Biography

Scott Dunning joined IUPD in 1995 at IUPD-Bloomington. In 2011, he joined the IUPD-IUPUI division, where he served as a patrol officer, sergeant, training coordinator, and lieutenant. In 2016, he was appointed chief of the IUPD-East division.

Chief Dunning is a native of Bloomington, Indiana, and a graduate of Indiana University East with a B.S. in Criminal Justice. His career in criminal justice began as a Correctional Officer at the Monroe County Correctional Center. He has extensive training in all aspects of law enforcement including serving as a certified instructor in firearms, patrol rifles, and active shooter.
